The Annunciation of Francesca Dunn earns a
3. I seem to be reading a lot of books that fall close to this rating as of late. The story chronicles the life of a seemingly ordinary girl who is pegged as the Virgin Mother by a homeless man one afternoon. When "miracles" take place in her presence, the hangers-on are right there to declare their love and devotion. But Francesca is just a young girl, not yet understanding the motivations behind her fans or her own susceptibility to groupthink.
