Ergo effect

How Henry looks after hanging out in the Ergo sling while his mom walks to the store, shops for chili fixings, walks home, and places him in his crib.
For those of you unfamiliar with this sling, the way it holds the baby causes baby's legs to spread pretty far apart. I had to laugh when removing Henry from the sling because his legs stayed that way after I laid him down.

The chili turned out fabulously. Sadly, the attempt at making apfelstrudel failed miserably. I'll leave that to the experts.

Gotta check out the Ergo.... E's rapidly becoming too big for the Bjorn.

Must've been in the air - it was chili night at McMillers too. Homemade beans, Gimmie Lean ground meat substitute, lots of veggies, extra cumin and chili powder. Awesome to fight the rampant colds in the household. Would've been vegan but it goes against some law that sour cream and cheddar go on top. What were your toppings?

We like it, although the strap that fastens in the back around the waist is a little uncomfortable. There is no extra padding so it can dig into the flesh at times.

Did you use the Cook's recipe? We did and I have to say it is fantastic, which means it should be better today as I read that chili gets better as it ages. We used ground beef and Darr had to stop me from adding bacon. (Mmmm, bacon.)

Toppings? None for me and crackers for Darr. Sour cream is a wee bit too condimenty for me and cheese sounds good but Darr dished me up and I don't think it occurred to him to grate some over the top.

Can you modify the strap and add padding? Maybe a little quilting around it? Ray Jay style.

Improvised from ATK's bean chili recipe (veggie). Used the recommended seasonings, didn't have the canned chiles. Used fresh bell pepper instead. Could have used Cayenne, will add some next time. It was so good. I might have to have an early lunch....
