Oklahoma State Representative Sally Kern has a speech about homosexuality that is not to be missed. Truly. If this lady represented me, I'd have to leave the state. (Click here to read her speech.)
Oh, and she should review her U.S. map. Eureka Springs is not the capital of Arkansas. Little Rock is. I'd expect her to know this since she taught "school for close to 20 years".

You know in my preschool classroom (where I teach "school" not children) all we do is talk about being gay and how wonderful it is! wtf? One year, I think it was like my 3rd year teaching there, I had a mom come down to my room while I was there in the summer getting things ready. She wanted to know about the curriculum. I explained that there'd be a curriculum night for that. And she kept on asking questions. Finally she said, "Look. I just want to make sure you're not going to be talking about those families with two mommies or two daddies and telling my child that is okay." And I replied, "Well, if I happen to have a child in my class that comes from such I family I will most certainly read books and talk about how families 'like that' are okay. If I don't happen to have anyone in my class from such I family we will still be talking about how all families are different and how that's okay." She was a little taken back and said, "well, I'm sure you won't have any of families with two mommies or daddies. Not in this town anyhow." And all I could say is, "I haven't yet, but you never know." She left and I was like, geesh! I went to warn the kindergarten teacher (because she'd also have a son in Kindergarten) and she quickly had me take a picture of her and another (female) teacher, she developed it, framed it, and placed it on her desk. The mom never said a word to her - I wonder if she was a bit curious about that...
Anyway - that speech was amazing, okay. Thanks for sharing.
Pardon the broken French, but wtf is a "death nail?" Something Ozzie has on his coffin lid or sommat?
"Not everybody’s lifestyle is equal. Just like not all religions are equal." Jesus Tapdancing Kee-rist, I wunner what 'ligion she thinks is the best, huh?
Fauguacenta, what a maroon!
Ms. Cathy,
I love, love, love that you and your fellow teacher did that photo shoot. What a great frickin' idea. And congrats on keeping your cool. I fear I would have lost it had some small-minded a-hole come to me with such nonsense about two mommies or two daddies concerns.
Mr. Busby,
I am so going to use "Jesus Tapdancing Kee-rist" on a regular basis now. D and I are still chuckling over that one.
She talks like a product of the educational system she hopes to have for her state. "...they want our young children into the government schools..." what type of schools would she prefer?
And as for the cancer of the little toe... I just looked at NCI for "little toe cancer" and nope, that's not even listed!
Oh, and I actually have a friend who is a lesbian from Oklahoma. She doesn't live there now, so those 2-year-olds are safe.
