I'm reading this book on how to survive my first year of law school and one of the recommendations it has is to take a vacation before school because you won't be able to take one after you begin. And you won't be able to take one after you graduate because you'll be too busy studying for the bar. And you won't be able to take one after you pass the bar because you'll be too busy working as an associate at a firm in the hopes that you'll be made a partner some day. So, I'm trying to convince Darr we should head overseas. We met a couple at the park today with twins and somehow got to chatting about traveling. They recommended we go now. First, we don't have to spring for an extra ticket. Second, the baby will likely nurse and sleep during the plane ride. Third, baby lacking mobility means we can strap him into the sling and head out with a minimal amount of fuss.
Any suggestions?

I'm always a fan of the continent. France, Italy, Germany, etc. Good food, culture, easy traveling. Only it's darned expensive right now. Knowing how much you two do not like the beach I will not recommend Thailand, the next place I'd like to go.
BTW, we ignored the "no holidays during grad school" rule and have had 2 very nice vacations and several extended weekends. Maybe law school is different.
Suggestions? On where to go? Or if to go?
I say Go. If you can afford to go, just go.
Now as to where? Didn't you mention Ireland? Can't really go pubbing there with Henry. Do you know anyone in Europe that you could visit (and have someone to watch Henry for a night). The last time I left this country I was in hs and don't really remember much.
But go. You should really go.
go before crawling starts. I think i've said that a few times before :)
as for location, depends on what you want to do. it'll be rainy in europe but tourism is low at this time. hitting the bars won't be an issue since europeans aren't, uh, well, retarded about the drinking rules but of course they smoke in bars which is gross.
