Project Baby Room resumes

About a month before Monsieur Henry arrived, we began changing the spare bedroom (a.k.a. Darr's office) to the baby room. This included removing the cool FLOR we had placed on top of the exposed concrete from when we removed the carpet to see what shape the floor was in underneath - at one point we toyed with the idea of doing concrete floors throughout the unit. Anyway, the project started with the removal of the previous flooring materials.
This section of the project was followed by the lying of new flooring materials - a sheet of plastic, a second sheet of foam, and then the faux wood flooring from IKEA.
When all was said and done the floor looked pretty good. (Keep in mine we're novice installers and I was nearly nine months pregnant.)
But we, and I say "we" meaning "Darren", needed to buy, cut, and install the baseboard along the wall to finish the job. To date, and I'm not assessing blame as D has been working very hard, we haven't managed to fit this into the schedule. So, after spotting a local hardwood flooring place a few blocks from the condo, I got the go ahead to call and see if they could help us complete Henry's room. Finally. Once done, this means I can try and get a real photographer out here to get some professional shots of the little one.

Okay. This is a dumb question, I can feel it. But why do the floors have to be done before you call a photographer? I'm very perplexed. :)

Oh, and you can't feel bad... we just installed the baseboards in Avery's room about 18 months ago. When she turned SIX. Who needs dumb ol' baseboards anyway???

I'm so jealous that you're having a professional photographer come. (And do you want the baseboards finished so she/he can take some shots of Henry in his room, on the floor?) I think I might look into having a professional come to our house in the summer - when we can do lots of outside shots.

hey.. we all get by with a little help from our friends. and professionals.

be proud of what you guys did do. it does look great as is, and having the trim done (which will only be a fraction of the cost had you hired someone to do it all) will make it complete. but the project should still get credited to you guys doing it yourselves.
