Recurring conversation with moms
I have this conversation with moms over and over again - do you know if you have an ugly baby? - and about half think you absolutely know and the other half feel that you might suspect you have an ugly baby but you're so blinded by love you don't see the ugly. With this in mind I did a Google search for "ugly baby" and came up with this.

I'm just dying to know how these conversations get started. I know that with time, I've been able to look back on pictures of my babies and realize they might not have been quite as cute as I thought they were at the time. But they were still the 3 cutest babies in the whole world, of course. :)
When Amelia was born, I'd tell people she was beautiful. Folks looked at me and smiled, probably thinking, "Of course she's beautiful. She's your granddaughter." I finally began qualifying my statement by saying, "No, she really is beautiful. I HAD an ugly baby and this isn't one."

oooh, that's GOOD.
I always thought rhena looked cute... in an old-man-named-frank kind of way. but uh.. truth is.. she looked like a little old man named frank. who was short, wore diapers, couldn't walk and wore pink. maybe NOT so cute.
but if anyone else insinuated she wasn't cute, I'd throw down. plain and simple.
