youth perambulates
amongst spring's woodsy trail
until one must pee*
*Megan tasked us moms with the construction of haiku about our journey today. The toddlers completed, in large part under their own power, a 3-mile trek through Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge. Ducks and wildlife were spotted, along with one nice man cutting down trees with an actual axe and one guy with a Walkman-style tape deck player circa the early 1980s. Oddly, it wasn't the guy with the axe who received the potential hiking murderer designation.

I thought it was 5,5,7,5. Oops, my bad.
Haiku is pretty flexible. Some haiku consist only of one word. (My one-word haiku about one-word haiku goes like this: Crazy.)
I love that picture!
