Book thirty-four: That Old Cape Magic by Richard Russo

I love Richard Russo so I was excited when I saw he had published another book recently, until another friend read it - it's the first selection for our newly formed book club - and just gave it a mere three (out of five) stars. I don't want to say too much because we'll be discussing it later this year, but this book had me in stitches. At one point I even had to read a section out loud to Darren because it was so frickin' funny. 26 down, plus 8.

So you liked it a wee bit more than me, huh? This means we shall have a good discussion at book club!

How on earth can the two of you read a book now for a book club in November?? I seriously wouldn't be able to tell you one single thing about it that far out. I'm excited to see who I side with though. I'm not the biggest fan of his, but I shall remain objective.

How can you not like Richard Russo?! That's CRAZY! (I'll reread it before the meeting because I won't remember anything. Well, I might remember that one scene but everything else would be a blur.)

Man, I'm not in book club (by my choice, for anyone else reading this) but this chasm of opinions has even me wondering about this book! LOL
