The park, better with licorice

Today, after stopping at the library for a replenishment of books, we headed to Sellwood Park, where we stayed for four hours. Four hours. And we weren't even at the playground. We threw a blanket under the trees across from the baseball diamond and read books, played with Hen's Teenie Beanie Babies, which he had stuffed into his backpack, and munched on fruit and crackers and licorice (a new Hen favorite). He found a few new friends to cavort with and even went across the lawn to run under the sprinklers with a whole gaggle of children when the park folks showed up to wet the baseball diamond before game time. Awesome. I'm so glad summer is finally here.

I love summer. What a great idea - we might steal that idea after our next library trip...
