Lots o' mushrooms

This morning was perfect. If every day could be like this, I'd never want Henry to grow up. He was SO much fun! After dropping Darren off at work,  Hen and I headed to Tryon Creek State Park to enjoy an early morning hike. The weather was awesome, Hen and I were both in great moods, and the mushrooms were abundant. Since the premise for this hike was to find mushrooms we could feed the dinosaur in the forest, this was a very important piece. We hiked around the forest for nearly two hours. Two hours. In regular time, not toddler time. It was awesome. We finished our hike, running from spiders and dragonflies and slugs (of all things), and then hit Saint HonorĂ© Boulangerie on the way home. Despite the beautiful display of fantastic treats, Hen selected the cereal roll. I enjoyed a bacon roll, which really might just be the most perfect breakfast food ever. It's impossible to find fault with bread and bacon. I dare ye to try. We hit one of the outside tables by the fountain and enjoyed the rest of our morning, eating our goods and soaking in the atmosphere.
