Photography fun: Hallinan Park, Aperture edited

After perusing our outdated copy of Out and About with Kids: Portland, Hen and I packed up lunch and headed to Hallinan Park in Lake Oswego. First off, this place has the largest outdoor play structure I've ever seen. Second, with the nearby large field, it provided hours of fun and a plethora of photo taking opportunities for us. Following are a few of my favorite pictures from today along with a short description about how they were edited:

Shutter 1/640 Aperture f/2.5 ISO 200 - original

Edited - applied vignetting - I was showing Darr how easy it was to do this in Aperture, adjusting two sliders (if memory serves radius and intensity) and voilĂ ! vignette happiness achieved

Shutter 1/2000 Aperture f/1.4 ISO 200 - original

Edited - played with the Blacks slider on this one but achieved a result similar to one of vignetting

Shutter 1/640 Aperture f/1.4 ISO 200 - original

Edited - changed the white balance from sunlight to shade, increased the contrast, and cropped / another one of my favorites from the day / I particularly love the happy dog in the back

Shutter 1/3200 Aperture f/1.4 ISO 200 - original

Edited - applied vignetting

Shutter 1/3900 Aperture f/1.4 ISO 200 - original

Edited - applied auto-correct, burned the face a bit - this is the only shot in which I wasn't completely happy with the end result / I like how the colors are a bit more vibrant in the edited version but I prefer the face in the original, I'm sure more tweaking could resolve this

You should add another label: "damn that mama has a good eye for photo editing."
