Here we go, folks. I am starting my own photography business. First thing to check off the to-do list, create a blog. It is
the most basic, non-thrills blog you've ever seen but I'm going for the minimalist approach. And, yeah, I think I about nailed that spot on with the "simple" design template from Blogger. Thanks to Megan, I already have my first client. Wish me luck!

And she means someone other than me! Go Christie!
Best of luck! Not that you need any of it, but you know.
Woohoo!!! You are so ready for it and have amazing pictures to prove it. Good luck.
BTW, I am sure you are on top of this, but one thing I wish I had tracked better in my 1099/contractor days was mileage. I would come up with some estimates at the end of the year, but the actuals were higher - but I didn't have the "paper trail" to show it...
Anya,
Is it enough to keep a written journal of appointments with approximate mileage?
Yes, it's enough to keep a written driving journal. I keep mine in Google Docs.
how exciting! congratulations!!!!!
Yes, like Rachele said, a written journal is enough. There's probably an app for that these days... The form that BHG was using at that time was just a blank table with columns for date/starting mileage/ending mileage/trip name.
