Sting

A bee/wasp/flying insect with murderous intent stung Darr on the forehead during his bike ride home yesterday. By the time Darr went to bed last night, one eye was swollen shut, like this...
Swollen, first evening
And when he woke this morning, the man could not see because both eyes were swollen shut, like this...
Day two, at the hospital
Needless to say, Darr not only went to the emergency room but got invited to stay for observation after he did not respond as well as expected to the drugs they administered. He can see now but his face is still overly puffy and it appears as if the effects return when the medication starts to wear off. Stupid bug.

Luckily, Darr hasn't lost his sense of humor...

OUCH! Darren, hopefully you'll feel better soon, and please don't run into bees (or whatever stung you) anymore.

OMG, this looks super painful. Hopefully you guys will be able to bring Darren home soon and all will be well. Sending good thoughts your way...

Well, it seems to be getting better thanks to a regimen of Benadryl and Steroids.

Does this mean have to go back to blaming my puffy face on doughnuts and pie?

Mmmm. Doughnuts.

OMG! Darren, you fought the bee and lost - big time! One question though... why does one wear glasses if one can't see??? (second photo) Must be force of habit and/or wishful thinking. :) I hope the swelling goes down soon brother.
