Books!

We are now reading regular, full-sized books but that doesn't mean we've given up the awesome illustrations and much-shorter plot lines of story books. Here is a list of some of our favorites:

A Sick Day for Amos McGee
What I love: This story of friendship warms your heart.

What Hen loves: He finds the thought of animals riding the bus pretty hysterical.
The Story of Ferdinand
What I love: The little bull wants to sit just quietly and smell the flowers. What is not to love about that, eh? Also, that there is no animal cruelty because Ferdinand doesn't want to take part in the bull fight.

What Hen loves: The bee stinging Ferdinand on the butt, of course.

Memoirs of a Goldfish
What I love: All the swimming (and attempted swimming) around the bowl, 'cuz that's what goldfish do all day.

What Hen loves: Mervin the snail who eats all the slime on the fishbowl.
Iggy Peck, Architect
What I love:  That little Iggy's talent is finally recognized and fostered.

What Hen loves: The construction of the bridge when Iggy - SPOILER ALERT - saves his teacher and classmates.
Little Oink
What I love: Little Oink's relief when he finally gets to do what he wants...clean.

What Hen loves: The following line - "Fine," whined the swine.
