Hermit crabs are taking over!

We journeyed to the beach today and did some exploring by the gigantic rock that borders the golf course. Once the tide went out it uncovered a great many sea creatures. Hen was ecstatic. Had it not been for my failure to pack a lunch, my guess is that we'd still be out there. At one point, I looked down and saw that everything beneath and around us was moving. Should the hermit crabs ever decide to attack, they'll surely win. Their numbers are vast and they have hard armor.

Cool! We were in SD at the beach on the same day, and the shoreline wriggled and wiggled too. Every wave would bring THOUSANDS of these little squirmy things frantically heading out to sea. The girls (and I) were kind of wigged out by it at first, but quickly made a game of letting the waves wash hundreds of these little things over our feet. Hate to think how many we squished though.
