President's Day morning

Hen wakes up about six o'clock. I stumble into the kitchen to get him something for breakfast. He requests the following: banana bread, toast with a great deal of butter on it, and a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I make him all of the above and give him a glass of milk before returning to bed. Since I didn't get to bed until nearly two, there's no way I'm functioning this early. He finally drags me out of bed - he's starting to be a little loud and his pops, who also went to bed late, is still sleeping - around 9a.m. We commence LEGO play after a quick snack in the kitchen. (Snack is a slice of turkey for Hen and one piece of last year's leftover Halloween candy.)

Hen, pointing to the LEGO mobile police command semi-truck: They call this the DS.

Me: What does the DS stand for?

Hen: It stands for, um, catching bank robbers and taking them to jail and hauling all types of things they're gonna need for the construction guys.

<pause>

Me: Okay.
