Fantastic. Beautiful. Sorrowful. Sweet. Lovely.
This really is a miraculous book. And it should be read to or by every child. There is a girl and she loves her Edward. The girl and Edward are parted. Edward does indeed have a miraculous journey. It is a journey filled with kids and crows and hoboes, dresses and kerchief pants, train rides and swims in the ocean. I must admit I got a bit choked up at the end - I was warned this could happen - and I nearly had to call Darren in to finish reading it to Hen. Kate DiCamillo has a gift and this story is one I intend to share.
