Book fifty-three: Rooftoppers by Katherine Rundell

An orphaned girl is placed with a man. As she grows, the agency that keeps track of fostered children begins to view the placing as unnatural. How can she learn how to become a proper lady when there is no female presence in the house? It is decided she will be removed from his care and placed elsewhere. So they flee. The adventure takes them to the rooftops of Paris as they search for the woman with lightning hair who plays the cello, and just might be her mother.

53 down. 1 over the goal.
