Bridge is hit by a car and misses an entire year of school recuperating. Sometimes her legs lock up and she can't cross the street. She decides to start wearing cat ears one day and then every day following.
There are too many things to list about what I liked about this book. There is a reason Ms. Stead is a Newbery Medal winner, her characters are sympathetic, flawed, and achingly honest.
