Book twenty-four: Pip Bartlett's Guide to Magical Creatures by Jackson Pearce and Maggie Stiefvater

Read aloud to Hen. (We do this a lot.)

It's a cute story about a girl, Pip, who gets sent to her aunt's house for the summer. Her aunt happens to be a vet for magical creatures, which becomes an issue for them all when an infestation of the dreaded Fuzzles hits the town. Those little suckers are bursting into flames all over town and keep ending up in people's underwear drawers. (Say what?!) Luckily, Pip has The Guide to help her better understand the creatures around her.

It took me awhile to get into the story but Hen seemed to enjoy it from page one so it gets two thumbs up from us.

24 down plus 28 to go.
