Dragons Basketball, 4th grade

Hen's team suffered a pretty dismal season, let's call it a building year, in 3rd grade. But the Dragons started out this season strong with a stunning 32-7 victory over the hulking kids at Faith Bible. I haven't measured but I believe Hen and his friend, Max, share the 'tallest on the team' designation and both were given ample opportunity to show off their skills on the court.

Things we need to work on include the jump ball and free throws. The kids appeared to have little to no understanding how to do either of these. But they still took command of the ball, dribbled and passed with a high level of accuracy, and scored often. Hen brought home 4 points and a bunch of assists.

Here's hoping the pain of last year's season brings us success this season. Of course, there were pictures...

UPDATE: The other team had to bow out at the last minute when only two team members made it to school. Not wanting our kids to miss out on one of the four (five?) games they have during our short season, the coaches arranged a friendly, inviting the second (a.k.a. Green) team to play. In order to make it work and be as close to fair as possible, they split the kids into two teams. The friendly game was a tie with an ending score of 14-14. Phew.
