Opal Creek!

Hen went on his first official overnight school field trip on Monday to Opal Creek. What an adventure! The kids left Portland around 9am and returned just in time for pick up at 3:30pm the following day. They hiked a lot, explored Jawbone Flats and saw Opal pool, and even found the tail of a lizard (gross). Their brave chaperones were Jacob (PE teacher), Megan (4th grade teacher), and Flo. Hen told me he got to sleep on the top bunk and that they hiked for about three hours when they arrived and later did an evening hike and participated at some point in a quiet hike and... I got the impression it was all very exciting. Hen took an old point-and-shoot camera and got some really good shots (see below, the boarding the bus and return photo were taken by moi).
