Today, Hen participated in his last regular meet of the season before districts. It was another untimed event so I don't have pace info. He ran in the middle of the pack until the group headed uphill, then he charged up passing folks along the way. He's doing a pretty easy jog and when I asked him why he didn't try to run as fast as he could he admitted being scared that it wouldn't be good enough to win. I reminded him that trying is way more important than winning and that even if he tries and fails, that's better than being too scared to try at all. We'll see what happens next.
