Book thirty: Carry the One by Carol Anshaw

A group of wedding guests depart after a long night of celebratory partying and wind up hitting a young girl walking home. That night follows them throughout the rest of their lives. The painter can't stop painting pictures of the girl who died, creating scenes from the life she never got to live. The drug-addicted astronomer falls into a downward spiral. The singer who ran uses the experience for fifteen minutes of quasi-fame. The bride who let them all drive away. The driver, who takes the fall for the accident and lands in prison. It's an interesting collection of well-defined characters and a good, albeit tragically sad, story.

30 down plus 22 to go.
