Jam Swap 2012
Yesterday, I was fortunate to attend my first ever jam swap. What a delightfully delicious way to spend the afternoon. Our gracious host, Rachele, baked up fresh cream biscuits we could use to transport tasty jams from the jar to mouth. Yum-my. I brought boring old strawberry freezer jam. (The only person with freezer jam, I might add.) But everyone else went creative and awesome. Nectarine jam, peach jam, cherry syrup, apple butter, triple berry, strawberry champagne, apricot jam, and more. I wasn't the only one who had issues making said jam. And I wasn't the only one who considered bailing because my jam wasn't perfect. Never again. Not only were there tasty good things to eat and take home, there was wine, good conversation, and no kids. I can't wait until next year. Methinks I'll do marionberry jam. Or peach lavendar. Or grape jelly...

Jam swaps are better than cookie swaps. For reals.
you were the only one with freezer jam, however, the apple/pear butter was also not processed. that one is eat or freeze in 2 weeks or less.
OK, please time the next jam swap for when we're up in PDX. I swear I'm swimming in peach lavender. And just saw a persimmon jam recipe I know I'll be OD'ing on in about a month. Sounds awesome!
dr a, One of my friends, who lives in Austin, participated via mail. I'm mailing her jam swap bounty back to her this week. You could arrange to swap via Christie next year.
Yes, Dr. A, let's make this happen next year. We'll be doing a Christmas cookie exchange sometime in December if you want to get in on that action. :)
