Henry has just asked for a Harry Potter themed birthday party.
Oh. Holy. Jesus.
I only have two months to plan. Darren mistakenly thinks this is plenty of time. Silly man.
If you don't hear from me in the next two months, you now know why. Forget the start of Hen's kindergarten year, I have a party to plan!
UPDATE 2:02A.M. - I think I've figured it out. The kitchen will be where the kids' Potions class is held, Hen's room will be the dormitory, the dining room will be the Great Hall. There will be one or two photo booths in the living room. I'll have to ask for permission to wrap the two black doors with brick wrapping paper and to hang the Platform 9 3/4 sign. (If the Board declines my request I can just do it to my front door but then I'll have to let go of the idea of having the kids take a cardboard train to Hogwarts (a.k.a. the condo)). So, do I hang candles from the ceiling in the G.H. or ... wait ... during Christmas the Board lets a homeowner decorate the front lobby. What if they let me decorate it for the day? I could turn it into Diagon Alley. I cannot stop my brain right now. I told Darren earlier he's going to have to help me scale back the size of this thing or it could get out of hand. That may have already happened.

In case you didn't know it, Interweave Knits has released a new magazine with unofficial Harry Potter inspired designs. If you feel really ambitious, perhaps you could knit a something for every guest as a parting gift :)
