I didn't have high expectations when I bought this book, I was merely curious about the gorgeous illustrations throughout, so it was a delightful surprise that I enjoyed it as much as I did.
This is an interesting tale about a young girl who makes a choice, comes to regret it, and seeks to correct it. With talking cats, a charming yet slightly dangerous fox, Mother Possum, and a witch in the mountains, we see our young heroine traverse back in time and face grave danger as she works to set things right. It deals with loss and longing, friendships, trust, and honesty. It delves into Native American culture, that I'd love to know or understand better as the additional information would surely only increase my appreciation for the story, and takes the reader on a journey worth taking.
58 done. Woohoo!
