I so enjoyed this book. I had a teacher in high school who had students start every class by copying a quote he had written on the blackboard. From Vince Lombari to William Blake to Samuel Johnson to Wayne Gretzky to Pliny the Elder to Mahatma Gandhi, we read, wrote, and remembered the words of those who came before us. He used their words to inspire and motivate and encourage his students.
"If the wind will not serve, take to the oars."
--Latin proverb
"It's not the load that breaks you down. It's how you carry it."
--C.S. Lewis
"He was a bold man that first ate an oyster."
--Jonathan Swift
9 down plus 43 to go.
