In third grade, Charlie Bumpers throws his shoes in the hall and one lands on the floor and the other hits the Teacher of the Year. Now, he’s in fourth grade with the Teacher of the Year. Her fingers snap like cannons. He thinks that she does not like him. The Teacher of the Year says, “If you throw a shoe one more time, you will be expelled.” [He thinks.] At the end of the book, the Teacher of the Year says she was kidding about if he threw one more shoe. Charlie finds out that the Teacher of the Year really likes him.
