Just when you think things cannot get any worse for the Bauderlaire orphans, they get very much extremely possibly the worst worse. Those poor orphans. They cannot catch a break. Not even a teeny tiny one. And yet, they hope for a time when things will be better and actively try to make things better. They do not give up. If they had, this series would have ended a long time ago.
