Well, that sucked

Well, that election was like 62,979,636 kicks to the crotch.

Hen and I have become quite the activists. Our first protest march took place mere days after Drumpf won the election. Along with other concerned citizens, we hit the streets to participate in Families for Peaceful Protest's march from the South Park Blocks to Pioneer Courthouse Square in downtown Portland. One of the organizers of said march, Shannon, happens to be a friend that I met because our boys attended the same preschool. Of course, there were pictures...

Hen is on the far right and his preschool buddy, Fisher, is marching next to to him.

The second march we participated in was the Women's March, Portland. It rained. A lot. We were miserable, cold, and wet. But we were also inspired, motivated, and committed. Other the course of several weeks leading up to the march, I knit 34 pussyhats - some sent to Washington D.C., some distributed to folks in Portland, and some sent to friends out of state. (You can learn more about the Pussyhat Project here.) The day after the inauguration, millions of people over all seven continents took to the streets to march. It was incredible. Of course, there were pictures...

And the third time we took to the streets was for the March and Rally for Justice and Equality sponsored by the Albina Ministerial Alliance Coalition for Justice and Police. We met near the MLK statue by the Oregon Convention Center and walked up to Skidmore and then over to the church. We walked further than the Women's March but Hen had a lot more fun because we were moving much faster, it wasn't raining, and the chants were fun. He liked the back and forth chants. "Tell me what democracy looks like!" "This is what democracy looks like." And..."What do we want?" "Justice!" "When do we want it?" "Now!" Of course, there were pictures...
