A Political Story

My mom woke me up super early this morning and I was a naked baby (plus diaper, of course) for a few seconds before she dressed me in appropriate 'going to see the next president of the United States' garb.

I may be a tiny democrat but I'm pretty fierce aboot it because methinks mommy might put me out on the street if I was a McCain supporter.

With my blanket, Chuckanucka, and froggy in tow, we were ready to go.

It was pretty foggy on the drive out to Hillsboro. A trip that Google Maps estimated would take 29 minutes, we made in 17.

'Cause we drive a small car, we were able to snatch a parking spot super close to the school that others drove right past. Even though it looks like it, we didn't even nudge the lady in front of us.

Whilst in line, I was persuaded to support Steve Novick, who is running for the U.S. Senate.

There were grandparents in front of us who were real nice and a friendly lesbian couple behind us who liked my hat.

We were in line a L O N G time but I didn't hardly fuss or nothing. When my mom was feeding me, a reporter from the Portland Tribune came over to ask what she thought about Future President Clinton and my mom was all like: "She's almost as cool as my baby."

The gym was looking good with a big old flag on the wall. I've never seen such a ginormous flag before. I'm pretty sure you could use this flag in that parachute game where you hide underneath it but only if that wasn't considered rude.

We were sitting behind the Oregon sign to the right.

Sometimes I just want to touch the camera and sometimes I want to touch the camera and mom forgets to turn off the flash so it blinds me a bit.

Introducing Madame President.

She's a pretty good speaker. The noisy crowd sort of scared me at first but I ate some more and then played with some girls that were sitting behind us. They were cute and I think they liked me. At least, that one girl did until I accidentally puked up a bit on her finger.

Mom didn't have her good camera but she managed to snap this blurry shot of Mrs. Clinton after the event was over and she was working her way through the crowd. All in all, it was a pretty good introduction to political rallies.

Right on, little man! If only you could vote too! I mean, vote and have it counted.

Bah! I am jealous, Henry. What time did you have to show up? I thought people were out there in the cold all night.

BTW, did you see the opening of SNL last night with the (fake) Clintons explaining their finances? I thought it was quite funny:

Andrew just explained to me what this "tiny url" thing is all about... I've been so confused by your b.e. busby pal and all their tiny url links. Technology is really something these days.

It's interesting that the dems seem to have put themselves in this position with their oddball proportional delegate assignment system. Were they winner take all (like the 'publicans) Hilary Milhouse Clinton would be the candidate-apparent for the Nov race with none of this messy futzing about.
