This year's best investment

Life at the Condo's best investment this year ... wait for it ... the huge amount of money we overpaid to our friends* at the IRS. Yes, folks. This year we're ecstatic about the opportunity to give somebody our money and have them give it back with zero percent interest! woohoo!

Funny how good zero percent interest sounds right now. Makes me wish I had overpaid Uncle Sam a little more this past year!

My "friends" at the Utah center (they send you pleasant (characterization for purposes of re-enactment only) notices about past tax filing mung... e.g., sent me a CP2000 (a/k/a "you fucked up your taxes") notice because of an accounting bufu (don't ask, I'm already sucking soap due to the earlier CP2000 characterization) by my major client resulting in two 1099s (for consulting work). I've just cut a check for 21 large (4 large less than they wanted).

Ugh.

Monsieur Busby,

OUCH.

Might I suggest you suck some beer instead?

Hmm ... no interest and next year you'll pay tax on the amount since they consider it 'income'... at the end it's better if you owe them.

I myself have faced a CP2000 -- although mine for a trivial amount. My accountant's advice: shut up, pay, and keep your head down while you're doing it.
