Ah f&$%, Brown won

As I see it, Obama was elected because the country was in crisis, which really means the poor guy was beset with problems not of his doing from day one. We gave him one year - ONE YEAR - to attempt to make major changes all while trying to contain the various fires left from his predecessor. And because things weren't being done fast enough, the fine voters of Massachusetts go and elect a guy from the other side of the aisle. And now there is fear that vulnerable Democrats will switch parties to avoid a hostile takeover in the next election. Ugh.

Meh -- let's face it, health care is now clearly the third rail of politics. This is going to create FUD amongst the morons we call senators as those with tenuous seats note that Teddy freakin' Kennedy's seat got taken away from the Dems in Taxachusetts.

As to the one year thing, poor Obama, were he Machiavellian, should have let the economy tank, easily gotten health care reform in place 'cuz nobody could afford it and then and only then fixed the economy... but he did the right thing and now (except for today's serious Dow drop) everybody who's got pie on the table is back to FDH (fat, dumb, happy) and no longer cares about health care.

It'll be interesting to see if the SenDems have sufficient lumbar to try the nuclear option.
