Miss Manners on the difference between family and friends

A conversation Bean and I had on the way home from dropping Darr off at work:

Henry: Avery!
Me: Avery's in Mexico.
Henry: Avery's house?
Me: We can see Avery when she gets back.
Henry: Josie's house?
Me: We can't just show up at Josie's house uninvited. It's rude.
Henry: RUDE! <insert giggles here> <insert thoughtful pause here> Mia's house?
Me: Oh, we can totally go to Mia's house uninvited. She's family.

Ha... Love it! (Just for the record, you can show up at Josie's house anytime. Eventually it won't even be a biohazard zone anymore!)

LOL! In a stroke of good luck, one of the families living down here (year-round no less!) has a 2.5yo and a 4yo. Friends for Avery - yeah!

Note: I'm totally sure they will pale in comparison to her usual playmates, so don't let Henry get all insecure or anything. ;)
