7:29a.m. - wake up before alarm goes off and shut it off
8ish a.m. - get up, make breakfast for Hen and cut up ripe cantaloupe
rest of morning - wash dishes, start a load of laundry, take dog out to do her business, feed pets, (including our newest addition, Frederic Von Hausen III, who very much likes his breakfast), get Hen dressed, put on my own clothes, pack lunch
9:31a.m. - damn car won't start, engine makes a clicking sound
9:35a.m. - call nearby mechanic, diagnosis is it's a dead battery, discuss options for obtaining new battery (including but not limited to carrying battery, biking with battery in trailer with kid, having them drive it over)
approx. 9:45a.m. - walk to mechanics with backpack and kid
10:05a.m. - have altercation with bicyclist on bridge - seriously, if you think I can hear your silent approach from behind over the sounds of traffic, you're crazy, and yeah, I'm going to call you out on it when you act ridiculously annoyed that I didn't immediately step out of the way 'cuz guess what, YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO RIDE YOUR BIKE ON THE SIDEWALK ANYWAY
10:12a.m. arrive at mechanics, buy new battery (30lbs, yo), load it into the backpack, put on backpack, and head for home
10:24a.m. - stop to watch slugs in the forest
10:33a.m. - console Hen after he loses his wish (poor thing disintegrated when he tried to hold on to it too long)
around 11a.m. - get home, check under the hood, go inside to feed and water Hen and get needed tools
11:25a.m. - everything is detached from the battery but how do I get the damn thing out when there's nothing to grab onto
11:33a.m. - devise pulley system using kitchen twine and hoist out the old battery
11:37a.m. - unwrap new battery, hook it up to the pulley system and lower it into place
11:45a.m. - attach battery to car
11:47a.m. - swing wrench around when tightening one bolt and accidentally hit both positive and negative posts - SPARKS!
11:55a.m. - shut hood, open door, and start car
I am already tired.

Yikes!
Way to go, Rosie the Riveter, for fixing the car.
Oh, and you set an alarm?
