This book is an ORCA Nominee for 2014 for 4th and 5th graders. It is an engaging, bittersweet story with loss and love and friendship and a mystery that needs to be solved. When Alice's aunt Polly dies, she takes her secret piecrust recipe with her. Well, she first gives it to her fat cat, Lardo, who she leaves in Alice's care. I am most excited to try the pie recipes at the beginning of each chapter.
