Book fifty-nine: Violet Mackerel's Brilliant Plot by Anna Bradford

We totally read this one but we waited too long to do our write-up for the BCCCA library party and will have to reread it. At that time, I'll update this post with Hen's critique but since it was finished before the end of the year and the books on that list are counted in my count for the year, I'm still counting this one.

This story features Violet, who is a very clever girl known for thinking out of the box. She wants nothing in life more than the little blue China bird sold at this one booth at a local weekend market where her mom sells knitted goods. She devises a plan to get it and puts it into action but success doesn't always come easy.

A Ramona-esque heroine who will steal your heart and remind you how awesome it is to be a kid.

59 down. Sweet.
