Ushering in the new year with a banner

I custom ordered this wooden representation of our family from Goose Grease on Etsy to commemorate our fifth anniversary. They arrived late but that was my fault so, um, whoops. Doesn't mean I don't love my husband or consider it an awesome feat to have made it this far. If we survive Hen's horrible threes, we'll be golden. Welcome to 2011, ya'll.

Banner, because it's about time

Out with the old and in with the new, is what I say.

Spring banner

I don't know when the official spring date is but my banner's going up. Suck it, Internet.

One month to go

Phew, the last banner of the year. I just completed NaBloPoMo (along with friends Ms. A and the other Ms. A.) and am 31 posts away from completing Blog 365. It has been one busy blogging year for me.

What's on the horizon, you ask? I plan on listening to Viva la Vida by Coldplay about seventeen more times while I write this entry and fix the banner. Then I'm going to hit the sack and try to finish the last book of the Twilight series, Breaking Dawn. Out of all of them, the third book was the least fun to read. Too much back story. I kept wanting to - but didn't - skip ahead to get past all of the achingly slow history parts. Ugh. On the books for next week, Darr's birthday, getting a Christmas tree, finishing up the last of my Christmas shopping, which happily means a trip to at least one local vineyard, and researching the best time to stay at this place on wheels we learned about when our Seattle friends, Rick and Anya, stopped by the day after Thanksgiving to gobble up some turkey and chat the afternoon away.

October banner

Did it all by myself!

And now a banner brought to you by the folks at Life at the condo

You didn't think I'd let the beginning of the month go by without a banner change just because I'm in law school now, did you?

I wish I could figure out how to do this without adding a post

It's like cheating. Here's a post, but really it's only a post because I can't figure out how to change the banner without posting the new banner and linking to it. Argh.

New month, new banner - just under the wire

Phew! Barely made this one in time. Many thanks to Darr for helping assist me in banner construction. And by "assist" I mean he did nearly all of the work minus the typing of "life at the condo" and deciding photo placement.

Guess what language "dengan bayi" is from this month's banner and win a prize! The first person to answer correctly wins.

Another banner pour vous

Once again I needed Darr's help to complete this masterpiece of banner goodness. You're welcome.

And yes, we are socking money away so that years from now when Henry sees this month's banner and heads straight for a therapist to work through his anger, he'll have the cash to pay for whatever anti-anxiety/depression medication his doc recommends he immediately starts taking.

New month, new banner: Otherwise known as, my husband will be so proud

I suck when trying to use Photoshop to do even the most simple tasks. That's why updating the banner this month is such a feat. I created the canvas, resized the photos, and added the text ALL BY MYSELF. And I did it while caring for a baby.

New year, new banner

We're already thinking about whether or not to send Henry to public or private school. Yeah, it's a few years away but rumor has it there can be waiting lists, which means we have to do our research now and come to some conclusion so we can progress accordingly. All this to explain why you have seen and will continue to see us use foreign languages in our banner. I have to say, I'm leaning towards the Portland French School. How sweet will Monsieur Henri be in fifteen years or more when he's asking out his first crush in French?
