It was beautiful today so Hen and I headed to Multnomah Falls for a little hiking and a great deal of waterfall mist. The place was surprisingly busy and, unfortunately, the platform at the top that you can hike to was off limits. We made it to switchback 5 (out of 11) before Hen complained of being too cold and insisted we walk back to the car.
Since the weather remained nice for the rest of the day, we headed out to meet Darr on his way home from work. Unbeknownst to us, Darr was parking his bike in our underground garage as we set out so we didn't get to greet him. Hen rode very, very fast on his scooter. So fast, he ended up crashing. The blood splatter from his contact with the ground can be seen at the bottom of the dip near the main entrance to Oaks Park. The kid was smart enough to know that once the blood was flowing, he should hang his head out and away from his clothes. He is fine and resting beside me in bed.
On the melatonin front, we had a fairly rough couple of weeks. He was going to bed just fine but waking up consistently at 4a.m. This does not work for the rest of the household. Hence, the new routine we've implemented this week. He gets his medicine about an hour later than usual and the new "goal" is to have him asleep by 8:30. We're hoping this pushes his wake up to a more reasonable hour, like six.

I thought about you today when I read an article that said that most preschoolers don't spend enough time outside. Henry is a lucky boy.
He would say otherwise, I'm sure. I denied darn near twenty of his requests today and made him help me put together the drawers that fit under our new bed.
Have you ever looked into a night light like the good night light? We have one for Cameron and although it works about 10-20% of the time consistently. It's actually starting to work. We're trying to get him to stay in bed till 6:30. Somedays it's only 4:45 and others it's 6:15 - but the goal is for him to rest and at least 'try' to sleep at least. Good luck. Also someone told me acupuncture is really effective on kids - not sure if your thought of that.
