Awesome game tonight. There was a small(ish) fire when the KC team scored our goal and they lit the green fireworks. There were a bunch of injuries - is this lacrosse? football? hockey? We were chanting crazily before the game even started and we didn't stop once it was under way. KC was the only undefeated team and the first in the league and they scored the goal for us that won the game. Ouch. You can see it here. My favorite is when the announcer goes, "Are you serious?"
A note to the poor chap singing the National Anthem. You can't slow that sh*t down and do runs and such when the crowd is singing with you, buddy. Also, Hen was asleep when we got home. As in he was not awake. The babysitter was able to get our kid to sleep. We didn't think it was possible. Our team won AND the kid was asleep by the time we got home. It does not get better than that.
In other news, we left the house around 9:30 this morning and didn't return until nearly 3p.m. We spent the day traipsing around our neighborhood stopping to have breakfast at Lili's, for Darr to get his haircut, for Hen to check out the shoes at Haggis McBaggis, and to grab some gelato before hitting the park, where Darr and Hen proceeded to play a cops and robbers type game that had Hen capturing his papa and putting him in the park bench jail. A jail Darr would promptly escape from starting the capturing process all over again. My face got a little burnt but it was a great day to be outside with the family and the dog, who hasn't walked that much in months and will probably spend the next five days recovering from the exercise.

What I was most proud of during the game was that, not only did I SEE the goal, but I also knew it was the other team that scored it for us! Believe me, that's progress for me. That first game I couldn't keep track of the ball to save my life. My third game and I even know who scores!
I thought doing some BBQing over there in the Army section was brilliant.
And the guy doing the BBQ looked like Jeff Foxworthy. I shit you not.
