Book thirty-two: A Tale Dark and Grimm by Adam Gidwitz

I picked this book up in the young adult section but didn't realize how crazy violent it was until Hen and I started reading it. Since he seemed up for it, we continued and finished the book. We would stop a lot while reading to discuss why someone did or said something and what various words meant and if it ever appeared as if he was getting overly scared by a given situation. But it was worth it in the end not only because I upped my count by one more book but because I'm beginning to realize how much Hen is listening and paying attention while we're reading. I'm so very thankful I have a child who has the patience for this. I'm happy he's able to participate in the process, asking relevant questions and remembering certain facts. We are not far away from starting the Harry Potter series!

32 down plus 20 to go.
