Book thirty-one: The Enormous Egg by Oliver Butterworth

We bought this book at Powell's on the discount shelf they have in the children's section for three bucks. What I thought was so great about it, when I read the back synopsis, was that Hen had given me elements of a story - like he does often when we are busy driving around town - and they matched the basic premise of this story. A boy finds an egg, the egg hatches, and out pops a dinosaur! I also enjoyed the political edge. Much trouble arises when the politicians learn that taxpayer money is being used to pay for food for a 'previously believed to be' extinct, un-American animal. Without giving away the ending, science and the general population do what they can to help save Uncle Beazley.

31 down plus 21 to go.
