Joining the rest of America

Okay, okay. We have crumpled under the peer pressure of our family and friends and finally joined the rest of America. We signed up for Netflix. The first two movies in our queue: Good Night, and Good Luck (which Darr has already seen and says was excellent) and Mission: Impossible III. (Yeah, it was after midnight when I was picking my movies, that's my only explanation for that choice.) With any luck, they should arrive at my door tomorrow. Woohoo!

Good night, and good luck is very good. I think, you'll like it :-)Netflix is awesome. Add Coupling to your queue - once you digest the accent, you may have a blast and really enjoy it (& order the remaining seasons) :-)

Hey Svetla,

I will do that. Thanks for the tip. Is Coupling that show that is set up like Friends? If so, I believe I have heard good things about it.

How are you guys doing?

Welcome to the world of Netflix - there's nothing better then getting a movie in your mailbox!

Thanks, Cathy!

Receiving movies in the mail has got to be easier than packing up a newborn, driving to the store, getting out of the car, going into the store, standing in line, paying, placing the baby back in the car, driving home, ... I'm exhausted just thinking about renting movies with a new baby. :)

Now all you need to do is sign up for PeaPod. You might never need to leave the house!

Netflix trick: Place a New release that's due to come out at the top of your queue. New releases come out on Tuesday of each week. On Monday afternoon (after around 2pm), go into Netflix and say you have returned a movie already (but Netflix hasn't received it). On Tuesday morning, they'll ship you the New Release. Otherwise, you might get stuck having to wait a couple of weeks for new releases. You can sometimes time it perfectly by dropping a return in the mail on a Sunday as well.

Personally, I just got rid of Netflix. Never have the time to watch full-blown 2-hour flix anymore, what with all this video gaming going on.... Now I'm onto Gameflying for my Wii.

Lo - I almost didn't post this comment because I didn't want to give your secret trick away. Thanks for the tip!

Cathy - I had to look PeaPod up to see what you were talking about. Thankfully, I have a desire not to become a shut-in so it's probably not something I'll look into just yet. This may change, of course, depending on the temperament of the R.A. :)

Christie, yep Coupling is similar to Friends. And in my opinion girls enjoy it more so have a girls' movie night (sorry Darren!:). It's fun!

We're doing well. We've been busy with guests, sightseeing and entertaining visitors over the last two months but October will be quiet!
