Boy outfit #11

Hen's growing and summer is almost over so we're breaking out the fall clothing. Bean is into skateboards right now so I, in an incredibly clever mothering moment <insert pat on back here>, spent about fifteen minutes one evening convincing Henry to try on his new "skateboarding" pants. And it worked. Hee hee. I'm excited to learn I still have some manipulative tools in my parenting kit. I have to pick up another pair of shoes (or two) and a second coat (I'm leaning towards this one or maybe this one or perhaps this one or this one - okay so boy clothing options don't totally suck all the time) but for now, he's got enough clothes to carry him for a while. Did I mention the retro Smurf shirt? Anyway, the whole point of this entry is to highlight a current favorite. I caught a pic of Hen being a slug in his new clothes the day of our ill-fated blackberry picking attempt.

For you photography folks thinking, "Dang, Christie, that picture be DARK," here's a look at the original picture:This, my friends, illustrates the power of shooting in RAW.

Also, I like corn but I am even more compelled to buy it when the marketing is good. Bodacious sweet corn rocks regular sweet corn every day of the week and on Sunday. And those threatening clouds, they busted open the heavens shortly after this shot was taken.

I just saved a photo from dinner the other night that was that dark. I still am not shooting in RAW (I know, I know), but the new Elements program helped me lighten it up.

I like the reversible jacket the best. As a bonus, I think that fuzzy texture on the inside/outside of the hood would make for some great head shots. That said, photography aside, I just like that jacket the best on it's own.

Okay. So I've been shooting in RAW the past few days but I don't see any big difference in the editing capabilities. Can I come over one day and get a tutorial? I could do some laundry or dishes in return.

Amber,
You're probably not seeing any real differences because your shots are near perfect to begin with. It only comes in handy when you are trying to save a photo or the white balance is completely off and you need to do some major tweaking. You're always welcome at our house. No laundry or dishes in return necessary.
