My project should I choose to accept it
I have to get Henry new art for his room. It occurred to me the other day that the cutesy alphabet letters currently decorating one wall might be a bit babyish for my little man. I previously mentioned getting his artwork to the frame shop, finally. While at the store I was bitten by the inspiration bug, and it told me to hang an eclectic assortment of frames on the wall with art and pictures and to make the lad a chalkboard using an old garish frame. The search for an obnoxious frame is on. I'm thinking something metallic, perhaps gold, and I'd prefer one that is very ornate. Luckily, we live in a neighborhood brimming with antique stores so the hunt shouldn't take long. And once again, Google comes through with the answer. There's a DIY guide to making your own framed chalkboard. (Instead of steel I'll be using masonite so the process will be slightly different.) Once I get the frame, a trip to the local Home Depot to purchase a few key items is all I need and the thing will basically make itself. I'm very excited to see how it all turns out but somewhat nervous that the picture in my head will vary drastically from what I get when I'm finished. Pics to follow.
